Mr. Moats received his undergraduate degree from Denison University in 1966 and his law degree from The Ohio State University in 1969. Following law school, Mr. Moats was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Moats practices in the commercial, general business and not-for-profit organization areas.

He is a member of the American, Ohio State, and Columbus Bar Associations, the Ohio Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives. He is also a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of The American Arbitration Association. Mr. Moats has written and spoken on various not-for-profit organization law topics.
