Families First Coronavirus Response Act Notice

As of April 1, 2020, employers who are subject to the provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), which are generally private and limited public employers with fewer than 500 employees, must comply with the paid leave components of the FFCRA and post the Notice distributed by the Department of Labor (DOL). Download the Notice PDF here.

  1. Where must the Notice be posted? At a conspicuous place on the employer’s premises (or any location owned by the employer) where employees are likely to see it.
  2. What about employees who are teleworking and do not visit any employer premises during the workday? The employer can satisfy the posting requirements for employees in this situation by emailing the Notice to them, direct mail, or posting the Notice on a company internal or external website.
  3. Is the Notice available in multiple languages? As of 3/29/20, the DOL is working to translate it into various languages and once available, employers should utilize the versions for languages commonly spoken by their workforce.

For specific questions regarding posting the Notice at your place of business, the Department of Labor has issued guidance available here or reach out to one of the member of our Business Law Group.
