John P. Wilkerson, Jr. Retires from Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP

This month, Carlile Patchen & Murphy staff and attorneys are celebrating the retirement of John P. Wilkerson, Jr. For 40 years, John has been an exceptional leader in the legal community, serving businesses and families throughout Central Ohio. He devoted his practice to counseling corporate banking, finance, and real estate clients through complex matters. 

In 1976, John received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from The Ohio State University. After graduation, he proceeded to Capital University Law School, completing his Juris Doctorate.  

Throughout his career, John was active in the legal and local communities. He served as in-house counsel at Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan Association for several years before joining CPM. John frequently lectured for the Columbus Bar Association (CBA) and the Ohio Legal Center Institute on lender’s counsel and real estate issues. He provided insight as a CBA Real Property Committee member and served on the Board of Trustees of The Discovery District Special Improvement District. He has been a devout member of his church community and lent his real estate expertise to help build a local church and campus.

    Over the years, you not only became one of the attorneys that I would turn to for advice, but a friend. I will miss working with you on Epcon and other transactions. Good luck in retirement. Hope you get a chance to play more golf, travel, and do more with your grand kids. Get off the condominium board as soon as possible. Please keep in touch.
