Brandon Borgmann joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in September of 2008, focusing his practice on estate and business succession planning, probate, special needs law, and tax. Brandon represents individuals, business owners, and families concerning estate planning, tax planning, and business succession planning. He also represents executors and trustees with respect to the administration of estates and trusts, probate litigation, and taxation.
Brandon received his undergraduate (B.S.) in Communications from Ohio University in 2004. He received his law degree (J.D.), summa cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 2007.
Brandon has been recognized in the “Best Lawyers in America” list by Best Lawyers® (2020-2023) for Trusts and Estates. He has also been listed as one of Ohio Super Lawyers magazine’s “Rising Stars” in 2022.
Brandon is a former Chair of the Elder and Special Needs Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association and the former Probate Committee Chair of the Columbus Bar Association. He has served as an adjunct professor at Capital University Law School, teaching estate tax, gift tax, and the income taxation of trusts and estates. Brandon is also a past President of the Capital University Law School Alumni Board.
Brandon often speaks locally and nationally on estate planning, probate, and special needs planning.
