We work collaboratively with the firm’s other practice areas to provide you with the highest level of legal representation. Cornerstone Title Agency, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP and provides a full range of title insurance services statewide and nationally through its national title insurance company underwriters.
Cornerstone offers the security of title insurance policies for both lenders and owners. Title insurance protects your rights and interests in your investment.
With your owner’s title insurance policy, for any valid claim covered under your title policy, you will be protected from the loss for as long as you (or your heirs) own the property.
A lender’s title insurance policy protects the lender’s interest in the event of a problem with the title. For mortgage lenders, a lender’s title insurance policy is required when they finance a mortgage loan. This is separate from the owner’s title policy and does not cover buyers.
Before a title insurance policy is issued, our agents conduct a thorough examination of relevant public records for debts, legal judgements and other potential issues. An in-depth title search helps reduce the risk of ownership issues occurring in the future. If any problems are found during the title search, Cornerstone can often assist in resolving issues before the title is issued.
Cornerstone is licensed by the State of Ohio, which is a “filed-rate state.” As a “filed-rate state,” virtually all premiums are filed and approved by the State of Ohio and thus are almost identical among all title insurance agencies.
The difference with Cornerstone is the personal relationships we foster with our clients. We have built a reputation for protecting buyers and lenders in real estate transactions. Our Cornerstone team combines knowledge of the market with responsiveness and flexibility to provide clients with the utmost level of service. Our state-licensed agents provide you with the confidence that your title services are being conducted with the highest legal and ethical standards.
