Joseph M. Patchen is a Partner at Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP, where he practices business and real estate law. He represents businesses, owners and professionals in business and real estate matters. His business law practice emphasizes corporation and limited liability company formation, planning, succession and asset protection. His commercial real estate representation focuses on finance, construction, leasing and acquisition. Joe joined CPM in June 1987. He serves as Chair of CPM’s Real Estate Practice Group.
Joe received his undergraduate degree (A.B.) from Boston College in 1984 with a focus in history, graduating with Scholar of the College honors, Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree (J.D.) from The Ohio State University in 1987.
Joe is a member of the Columbus Bar Association where he chairs the Real Property Law Committee, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association as well as other professional and industry groups. He is a frequent seminar lecturer on leasing, construction, legal ethics, gun law, and corporate law matters.
Joe serves on the finance committee of the Ohio History Connection (previously The Ohio Historical Society), where he previously served on the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club and the past Chair of the Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce Board. He has served in various board capacities with Huckleberry House, FirstLink, Pilot Dogs, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, and other not-for-profit organizations.
