Geoffrey S. Kunkler Promoted to Partner at Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP

Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP is pleased to announce that Geoffrey S. Kunkler has been promoted to Partner in the Family Wealth & Estate Planning practice of the Columbus based law firm.

“Geoff has worked hard to earn this promotion. His accreditation from the Department of Veterans Affairs and designation as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® round out our Family Wealth & Estate Planning team in important ways,” said Partner and Chair of the firm’s Family Wealth & Estate Planning group, Jane Marx.

Mr. Kunkler joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in August 2014. His practice is centered on estate planning for individuals and business owners, as well as asset protection planning for retirees. He focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning, elder protection, estate administration, charitable and philanthropic planning, and special needs planning. He also has extensive experience in conducting educational seminars on legal topics related to his expertise.

Mr. Kunkler received his undergraduate degree (B.A.) and master’s degree (M.A.) from Case Western Reserve University, and his law degree (J.D.) from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Geoff also earned his CAP™ designation from The American College in 2016.

Geoff was named a “Top Lawyer” by Columbus CEO magazine in 2016 and is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell, Martindale’s highest peer rating for legal ability and ethical standards.

Geoff is active in several organizations within his profession including the Columbus Bar Association where he serves as the current Chair of the Estate Planning & Trust Committee and is a member of the Probate Law Committee. He is also a member of: the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Foundation Professional Advisors, the Delaware County Foundation Professional Advisors Group, the Catholic Foundation Professional Advisors Group, and was previously a founding board member of the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council.

Mr. Kunkler is involved with the Delaware County Foundation and is a current member of the Board of Directors and the Development Committee. He also supports The Ohio State University and is a member of the Buckeye Club. Additionally, Geoff is a founding member and the current and inaugural Treasurer for the Central Ohio Business & Wealth Planning Council.
