About:

Brent Rosenthal joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in July 2007. In his practice, he focuses on representing closely-held businesses and their owners in a broad scope of their legal needs – business formation and structuring, finance, transactions (including acquisitions and contract preparation and analysis), employment and general business, and legal counseling. Brent’s commercial real estate practice focuses on representing a variety of their needs. His clients include buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and developers in the acquisition. He also handles sales and leasing, development, financing, zoning, and land use matters.

Education

Brent received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University in 1977 and 1980. He received his law degree (J.D.) with honors from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1984 and is a member of the Order of the Coif.

Professional Associations & Memberships

Brent is a member of the Columbus Bar Association. He was one of the first Ohio lawyers to be certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Real Property – Business, Commercial and Industrial Law.

Brent has received the Martindale-Hubbell® rating AV Preeminent®. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America list and has been named a Central Ohio “Best Lawyer” in Best Lawyers® every year since 2005.

Community Involvement

Brent is active in Rotary, serving as District Governor of Rotary, District 6690 (2011-2012), held international leadership positions (2012-2019), and is a member of the Rotary Club of Westerville.

Local community, church and civic matters fuel his philanthropic passion. For several years, Brent served on the City of Westerville Board of Zoning Appeals (1990-1998), where he served as chairman for five years. In addition, Brent previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Westerville Area Resource Ministry. He is currently a board member and president of the board of Neighborhood Bridges, a Westerville-based philanthropic organization. He also volunteers by teaching the I Can Program to second graders at McVay Elementary School in Westerville.

Personal Interests

Brent resides in Westerville with his wife, Sylvia, and has three adult daughters, two sons-in-law, two beautiful granddaughters and a handsome grandson. In his spare time, Brent enjoys riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, reading, listening to music and spending time with his family.
