Bobbie received her undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Miami University of Ohio in English and Creative Writing, and her law degree (J.D.) from Capital University Law School, Order of the Curiae.
Professional Association And Memberships
Bobbie is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and its Family Law Committee, the Ohio State Bar Association and its Family Law Committee, Central Ohio Academy of Collaborative Divorce Professionals, Inc. (past-President and serving in different capacities on the Board of Directors and on various committees), the International Academy of Collaborative Divorce Professionals, the Ohio Adoption Round-table and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is also a member of the Parental Alienation Study Group which is an international group of mental health and legal professionals from 40 countries, which is developing and promoting research on the causes, evaluation and treatment of parental alienation.
Bobbie was inducted into the 2009 Fellows Class of the Ohio State Bar Foundation. Membership is extended only to lawyers whose careers have demonstrated their dedication to the highest ideals of the legal profession and the welfare of their community. Bobbie has also received the Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV® Preeminent™. In addition, she has been recognized a “Top lawyer” by CEO Magazine, and during her tenure CPM has ranked as “Best Family Law Firm” in Columbus CEO’s Readers’ Poll.
Publications And Speaking Engagements
Bobbie is a highly-trained and experienced mediator and collaborative divorce professional. She has been a speaker for the local and state bar on collaborative law, alternative dispute resolution techniques in child custody and divorce and many advanced topics related to family law. She has written chapters of seminar manuals on such subjects as “Effectively Arguing Contempt,” “Death and Divorce,” “Advanced Parenting and Adoption Issues,” “Ethics in Family Law,” “Discovery Procedures and Model Forms in Family Law,” and “Dividing Complex Assets in Divorce.” She is co-author of the Home Rule Handbook for Ohio Townships and is formerly an adjunct faculty member of Columbus State Community College.
Bobbie currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Crawford Crew (fundraising and educational entity for James Cancer Hospital relative to cervical cancer research and treatment) and the Drug Free Action Alliance of Ohio. She has volunteered for numerous public service agencies since moving to Columbus in 1986 including United Way, the Ohio State Bar Foundation, Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools, the Wounded Warrior Project and Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, Bobbie has received an extensive amount of training in a variety of mental health and addiction issues and has volunteered as a crisis intervention paraprofessional and in other capacities for mental health organizations, dealing with topics ranging from suicide, drug and alcohol addiction, sexual assault, mental illness, homelessness and domestic violence.
Bobbie is involved with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Crawford Crew (fundraising and educational entity for James Cancer Hospital, cervical cancer).
Bobbie has three children who are active in sports and school. When not running around with children, her hobbies include swimming, fitness, taking in the wide array of experiences in Columbus, reading and playing with her two dogs.
